Day 23

I'm so glad I got to ride today! I had originally planned on giving Marley the day off as I was judging for a pony club show which I thought would last all day. We finished up really early though and by 4:00 I was out at the barn, and it was such a gorgeous afternoon to be there. No wind, 80 degrees, not too many people around... perfect. I decided to ride Marley in the small arena where the footing is a little deep so it is a bit more work, but it's very soft and nice. Mike took a lot of video today, so I wont talk too much about it, but I started to pick up a light contact today and you can see Marley settles into it a bit after a couple of minutes. At first, especially at the trot, he wiggled around with his body and his head, but I just kept asking him to move forward and stayed as quiet as I could, and he really settled. I was very happy with his progress and I think he's doing a great job!

After a great ride, we spent some quality time with Marley just enjoying the nice evening. He was (as usual) being playful and hilarious. I love this horse.
